I’m not going to lie… I never was a huge fan of doing sports or sweating but since a few months I’m visiting the gym regularly. I started doing cardio at the beginning but decided to focus on lifting weights. I always wanted to have a leaner and much healthier body but I never dared myself to put everything to work. Since a few months I started to see results – physically and also mentally. Visiting the gym regularly changed my life in such a positive way. I will never be a good or professional athlete, I know and don’t even want that. I don’t have that much free time or the discipline. Sport is and will always be a passion. That’s why I wanted to share, why I even started doing sports.
1. GETTING HAPPIER
I need to admit, that I ALWAYS have to force myself to go to the gym. No joke. When I start doing my exercises I look like, that I want to kill people. Not wondering, why no ones talks to me 😀 BUT that amazing feeling after my gym session is just amazing! I immediately get happier and I feel much more relaxed. I think it is actually called ‘that happy feeling’ after doing your exercises. It releases endorphins, which are the body’s natural high and create a feeling of euphoria.
2. REDUCING ANY KIND OF STRESS
My life is full of stress because I go to university and have a part time job. It’s really exhausting. Going to the gym, gave me the opportunity to relax and focus on me. It is a great way to relieve all that stress and pressure of your day. I realized, that I can concentrate much more on my studies and work. I also do Yoga in the mornings or at nights – at home. Which has also a big influence in my current lifestyle.
3. SELF CONFIDENCE
I still do not think that I’m pretty… I have a lot of issues with my looks but it is starting to get better. I have goals and I’m slowly reaching them, which is helping me with my self confidence and the way I talk to people or even see myself in the mirror.
